Instructions

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Meatballs

  1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Salsa De Leon, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Roll the mixture into small, evenly sized meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter).
  3. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.

2. Make the Marinara Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  2. Pour in the marinara sauce and stir in Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and Salsa De Leon for an extra kick of spice.
  3. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, then add the cooked meatballs back into the skillet. Stir gently to coat them in the sauce, then let them simmer for another 5 minutes.

3. Assemble the Subs

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Slice the hoagie rolls in half and spread butter on each side. Toast in the oven for about 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Place mozzarella cheese slices on the bottom half of each roll, then add the spicy meatballs with a generous spoonful of sauce.
  4. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top, then place the subs back in the oven for 2-3 minutes, just until the cheese melts.

4. Serve & Enjoy!

Remove from the oven, serve hot, and enjoy these Spicy Meatball Subs with a side of chips, fries, or a fresh salad!
